Guidance:

To maximise the amount of news we can include and make it easier for readers to scan and identify items of interest, please keep your content brief and to the point.
Include key information only + ‘Call to Action’ (CTA) that links to further information (an internal web page, external web page, poster/flyer/document, or an email address to contact). This is far more engaging to the reader than a long chunk of text to wade through.
Character counts – our newsletter is built in blocks, approximate character counts for 3 sizes are:
- Short = 150-250 characters
- Med = 250-350 characters
- Long = 350-500 characters
Some content can be simply a title and a single line of text/CTA.
Don’t copy full details from an event or external web page – this is unnecessary duplication – just lift the key info and then readers can click through if they want to know more.
All content should have a CTA.
