For internal CPTH use only


  • To maximise the amount of news we can include and make it easier for readers to scan and identify items of interest, please keep your content brief and to the point.
  • Include key information only + ‘Call to Action’ (CTA) that links to further information (an internal web page, external web page, poster/flyer/document, or an email address to contact). This is far more engaging to the reader than a long chunk of text to wade through.
  • Character counts – our newsletter is built in blocks, approximate character counts for 3 sizes are:
    • Short = 150-250 characters
    • Med = 250-350 characters
    • Long = 350-500 characters
  • Some content can be simply a title and a single line of text/CTA.
  • Don’t copy full details from an event or external web page – this is unnecessary duplication – just lift the key info and then readers can click through if they want to know more.
  • All content should have a CTA.
