What is a nursing associate?
Introduced to bridge the skills gap between healthcare support workers and registered nurses, nursing associates can help build the capacity of the nursing workforce to deliver hands-on patient care to people of all ages, in a variety of health and social care settings.
The role will be regulated in England by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and qualified nursing associates can apply to join the register from 28 January 2019.
