FSRH Bitesize: Intrauterine contraception (IUC) removal

Last updated Tuesday 8th August 2023

FSRH Bitesize are quick video resources designed to help healthcare professionals upskill on the most common sexual and reproductive healthcare procedures.

Removing an intrauterine device (IUD) is one of the most common sexual and reproductive healthcare procedures. There is no requirement to achieve any kind of formal certification for routine IUD removals only; however, many healthcare professionals feel they would benefit from further support and information in this area.

FSRH have produced two free videos designed to boost the skills and confidence of healthcare professionals, supporting you and your colleagues to remove IUDs and to provide better healthcare to women.

These videos are provided to support local training and best practice. It is up to the individual and their employer to assess if they are competent to do any procedure such as IUD removal.
