Physical activity is an independent risk factor affecting metabolic health, regardless of whether it results in weight reduction, yet those with most to gain are often the ones who find physical activity most difficult. This webinar explores the role of lifestyle decisions across the life course and examines childhood obesity trends and interventions.
Learning outcomes:
- Review the metabolic as well as psycho-social impacts of increasing physical activity, and its impact at different ages
- Understand how current trends in childhood obesity are affected by ethnicity, deprivation and cultural factors
- Discover what outcomes are possible from a well-established childhood obesity service
- Examine the evidence underpinning behavioural approaches to weight management
- Recap on brief intervention messages relating to nutrition and eating behaviours, from early years through to sarcopenic obesity, as requirements change across different life-stages
