Introduction to Coaching and Mentoring Programme
Coaching and mentoring is a key professional development tool to support adult reflective learning. It is used in leadership development, and to support senior managers and clinicians throughout the NHS and to assist the primary care workforce to grow and develop; providing more internal support for themselves and their colleagues and building resilience and emotional buoyancy.
In Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, coaching is currently provided through a network of clinical coaches working with Akeso to GPs and Nurses in C&P, and through AMB coaching on a referral basis from the LMC. The NHS Leadership academy also has a coaching offer for future leaders including programmes for GP Partners and business leaders as well as practice managers through the Assuring Better Practice Programme (ABPP).
Coaching is a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires individuals to maximise their personal and professional potential. It can help boost morale, increase motivation, engage enthusiasm, reduce levels of stress, improve self-confidence and performance and encourage a more proactive approach to addressing issues and making decisions.
Training Hub is committed to developing coaches and mentors in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough by providing a programme of quality coaching and mentoring training.
