Back to Basics: Supporting Young Carers – Training Session
This interactive training session is designed to equip professionals working with children, young people, and families in the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough areas with essential knowledge and practical tools for supporting young carers. Whether you’re new to working with young carers or looking to refresh your understanding, this session will provide a solid foundation in identifying, supporting, and engaging young carers.
Important Note for Schools:
While this session is open to all professionals, Young Carers Champions should attend the in-person full-day training titled ‘Young Carers Champions Training’. This training is specifically designed to equip Young Carers Champions with the comprehensive knowledge and skills necessary to fulfil their role effectively. The Back to Basics session will provide foundational knowledge but does not cover the full scope needed for a Young Carers Champion.

- Identify the strengths and skills young carers develop
- Learn practical ways professionals can support young carers
- Explore universal and specialist support available
- Understand the importance of logging young carers onto your systems.
