As part of the Maturity Matrix, introduced back in 2019, PCNs were encouraged to form a plan of how they would engage and connect with their patient population. The vision was that community representatives, and the community voice, were to become embedded into the PCNs’ working practices. Engagement with service users and the wider community was to feature as an integral part of PCN planning and decision-making. Nearly 2 years on, we explore the barriers that some networks have faced and share best practice examples of successful approaches from across the country. We’ll talk about the tips, tools and techniques that you can take, if you’re just starting out on your journey as a PCN looking to engage with your patient population.
