This free education is open to GP’s, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Specialist Nurses, Care Home Nurses and Managers and Advanced Paramedic Practitioners, who may hold ReSPECT discussions and complete the ReSPECT form.
ReSPECT (Recommended Summary Plan for Emergency Care and Treatment.)
This ReSPECT Process – Level 3 Training is aimed at GP’s, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Specialist Nurses, Care Home Nurses and Managers and Advanced Paramedic Practitioners, who may hold ReSPECT discussions and complete the ReSPECT form.
The three-hour session will cover the following topics:
- ReSPECT: why now?
- The Medico-legal aspect of ReSPECT
- ReSPECT conversations: who, when and how
- Shared decision making and recommended treatments
- Identifying and addressing challenges
- Case studies & Q&A.
Sessions will include presentations, group discussion, case studies and Q&A.
Delegates will leave the session with an understanding of the ReSPECT Process. They will feel confident identifying suitable patients to have ReSPECT discussions with, when they should do this and how.
The Arthur Rank Hospice Charity and Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice have been commissioned by Cambridgeshire & Peterborough CCG to provide ReSPECT training to all GP practices and care homes in the area.
Session starts at 9.30am with registration and coffee. The programme will run from 10am-1pm with lunch provided afterwards.
