GP Professional Development (CPD) Grant

Are you a GP working in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough looking to develop an area of special interest? CPTH has limited CPD funding available to support an area of study where your interests support the work of General Practice alongside furthering your career opportunities.

CPTH will provide you with an opportunity to increase your knowledge and skills by providing a grant towards an approved programme of study.

Eligibility

GPs at any career stage, who are actively working in Cambridgeshire & Peterborough general practice, either:

  • Salaried – working a minimum of 3 clinical sessions per week
  • Locum – providing on average, a minimum of 13 clinical sessions per calendar month over the preceding 3 months

To ensure fair distribution of funds, applicants can only be in receipt of one Training Hub GP CPD grant within a 24-month period. Therefore, you are not eligible if you have received a grant in the previous 24 months (this includes leadership, mid-career, QIP, Dermatology and DFSRH Grants, but does not include Supporting Future Educator grants or Fellowship study budget).

Funding

We will reimburse up to a maximum of 75% of the course fees, capped at £3,000.

If the course is co-funded by any other grant or bursary, the amount of co-funding will be deducted and we will reimburse up to a maximum of 75% of your remaining contribution (capped at £3,000).

Please note we will not pay for courses direct to the education provider and we will not accept applications in respect of any course of study that has already commenced.

The grant will be paid to you by reimbursement, in 2 instalments:

Payment 1: 50% of approved amount prior to course commencement, subject to:
– evidence of successful application to your chosen course / confirmation of place
– evidence of payment of fees and of any co-funding

Payment 2: 50% of approved amount at the course duration mid-point, subject to:
– Evidence of payment of course fees and of any co-funding
– Completion of a progress report/survey which will be reviewed by Training Hub and used to support funding commissioners’ reports

To claim reimbursement, we will provide you with a claim form to be submitted for each payment. We will confirm the submission deadline for each claim when we confirm that your application has been approved.
