This is a 2 hour course exploring basic knowledge and skills about safeguarding adults necessary for anyone who works or volunteers with adults and their families.
This training will be facilitated by Elizabeth Locke, Safeguarding Boards Trainer, Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Safeguarding Children and Adults Partnership Boards
Aim:
This course will introduce participants to key aspects of Safeguarding Adults, as set out in the Care Act (2014), including who is considered an adult at risk, and how multi-agency partners should work together to prevent and protect adults at risk from abuse.
By the end of the training session participants will be able to:
- Explain what Adult Safeguarding is and the importance of ‘Making Safeguarding Personal’
- Identify what constitutes abuse and neglect in relation to adults at risk
- Identify indicators of abuse and explain what to do when you are concerned about an adult at risk
- Make a referral to report a concern about abuse of an adult at risk
- Access the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Adults policies and procedures
Target Audience
This course is for those working in the voluntary sector, particularly individuals who do not have access to their own agency’s training in relation to basic Safeguarding Training. This course is not appropriate as a Safeguarding refresher course.
