Introduction to RightCare respiratory toolkits
Join Dr Andrew Menzies-Gow, National Clinical Director for Respiratory Disease, to find out how RightCare’s Asthma and Pneumonia Toolkits can support system improvement and patient care.
Respiratory disease affects one in five people and is the third biggest cause of death in England (after cancer and cardiovascular disease). The NHS Long Term Plan 2019 identified respiratory disease as a clinical priority and outlined a vision to target investment to improve treatment, support, and outcomes.
Published in September 2022, these toolkits support systems to understand the priorities in asthma and pneumonia care along the whole pathway. They highlight key priorities such as prevention, accurate diagnosis, medicines optimisation and support for specific patient groups and provide key areas of focus and clear actions to take to identify and support improvement in the delivery of asthma and pneumonia care.
Andrew will present a case for change for respiratory disease and how the toolkits can be used to benchmark current services and identify areas for improvement.
