This webinar will review the importance of lipids in the development of cardiovascular disease in diabetes. Evidence of LDL-C reduction and improving cardiovascular outcomes will be discussed for both statins and non-statin LDL-C lowering drugs including injectable agents. A practical approach to cardiovascular risk assessment in type 1 and 2 diabetes will be covered as well as the problem of raised triglycerides. The webinar will also include UK guidelines including NICE recommendations and treatment pathways for lipid management in diabetes.
