About this event

Do you work with children, young people, or families in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough? Would you like to develop your understanding of young carers and how best to support them?

This online session takes you back to the basics of identifying and supporting young carers. It is designed for professionals outside of education settings – for example, those working in health, social care, youth and community services, or the voluntary sector across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.

You will leave with a clear understanding of:

  • Who young carers are – and the impact caring responsibilities can have on their wellbeing, development, and future opportunities
  • How to recognise them – practical signs and situations where a young person may be a carer
  • How to respond – simple, effective steps you can take to provide support in your role
  • Where to find help – information about Centre 33’s offer for young carers and young adult carers in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough

What to expect:

  • A 90-minute interactive online workshop via MS Teams
  • Real-life examples and case studies
  • Practical tools and resources to use in your role
  • Time for questions and discussion

Bring a pen, notepad, and a willingness to learn!
