It is estimated that there are over 7000 rare diseases, with 1 in 17 people affected at some point in their lifetime. Patients can often face a lifetime of complex care and life-limiting decisions. It is important that those affected by rare disease receive the best possible care and that their voice is heard. This webinar aims to raise awareness of rare disease within general practice. Speakers will cover topics such as the fundamentals of rare disease, the UK action plan and framework, health record scanning, and what this all means to the primary care team. The webinar will include valuable examples and case-based discussions to develop confidence when diagnosing rare disease patients.
