Background

Auditing and reflecting on antibiotic prescribing behaviours has been shown to improve prescription accuracy and facilitate appropriate antibiotic use in line with recommended prescribing guidelines. NICE have published antimicrobial prescribing guidance for the many common infections that present in primary care. This webinar details how to use simple audit templates from the TARGET toolkit to assess how your prescribing compares to these national management guidelines and best practice. We will also discuss the evidence and examples for using audits to assess prescribing and how audits can be used as part of practice wide effort to implement antimicrobial stewardship interventions.
