Bereavement has been particularly difficult for our patients during the pandemic. For those whose loved ones have died from COVID-19 and from other causes during lockdown, restrictions on visiting before the death, on funerals and on subsequent social support have all served to make the experience of bereavement much harder for many people.

Those whose loved ones had died before lockdown have had their grieving processes interrupted with their much-needed social support severely curtailed. GPs have a central role in supporting bereaved people, but have had to do so remotely, which often feels less than ideal for all concerned.

This webinar will discuss current expert thinking concerning the bereavement process, the ways in which GPs and our practice teams can best support bereaved people, and the results of a recent UK-wide survey of over 800 professionals concerning their experience of supporting bereaved people during the pandemic.
