Primary care is fundamental in achieving good outcomes for cancer patients.
Cancer in primary care is common – 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer sometime in their lifetime. The challenge is to diagnose cancer early and so to improve the life chances of these individuals; with the Long-Term Plan setting an ambitious target of diagnosing 75% of cancers at Stage 1 or 2.
This conference is a learning event to inform primary care clinicians of knowledge and innovations in improving cancer care. It aims to provide knowledge to impact and improve care of cancer patients as well as inform GPs of changes that will impact the role of early cancer diagnosis in primary care.
