Following the very well attended and successfully evaluated GP Cancer Masterclasses in 2017-18, and at the request of GP colleagues we are presenting the Cancer Speed Dating Masterclass!

If you are committed to increasing your skills of diagnosing cancer early,​ with a particular review of local services in an interactive and less formal setting, then please reserve your place today.

The meeting is open to all clinicians​ consulting patient who may have a possible cancer diagnosis.

9:00 – 9:15am | Registration with coffee / tea with Danish pastries & fresh fruit platter to start the day!

The education session will start promptly at 9:15 am with GPs in learning groups rotating through eight clinical stations:

  1. Upper GI cancers & Barrett’s surveillance – Dr Gareth Corbett & Dr Di Pietro
  2. FIT testing & top tips for referring – Mr Nigel Hall
  3. Lung cancer- mm matter, and top tips for referring – Dr David Gilligan & Dr Frank Mccaughan
  4. Breast-top tips for referring, breast pain and gynecomastia – Dr Elizabeth Cox
  5. Prostate straight to test & risk Stratified follow up – Dr Vincent Gnanaprasagam
  6. Urological cancer & clinical issues – Mr Benjamin Lamb
  7. Haematological problem cases – Dr George Follows
  8. 2ww referral issues and shared understanding – Macmillan GPs & Patient representative

This ‘Cancer Speed Dating Masterclass’ is an exciting approach to GP education that is interactive, varied and provides a great opportunity for collaborative working across primary and secondary care to ensure Cancer Patients receive the diagnostic, treatment, and care they need, in the right place, at the right time.

Car Parking

Delegates and visitors to the Education & Conference Centre should park at the
Babraham Road Park and Ride located next to the hospice and use the footpath to
the Centre. Car parking at the Park and Ride is free for up to 18 hours. The car park
at the Hospice is reserved for patients, families and Blue Badge holders only.

By Public Transport/Taxi

Cambridge railway station is approximately 3 miles from the Hospice. Taxis are
available outside the entrance to the station or buses run from the city centre/railway
station/Addenbrookes to the Babraham Park & Ride. Once at the Park & Ride,
please walk towards the vehicular entrance to access the pedestrian footpath to the
