Community informed risk assessment in intimate partner violence cases: Developments in Arizona

Neil Websdale will discuss risk and lethality assessment in intimate partner violence (IPV) cases. He will address the notion of risk, why we assess risk, and the challenges associated with assessing risk in IPV cases. Websdale will overview the complexities of perpetrator-victim relationship dynamics before discussing some of the emerging research on dangerous IPV cases. He will then discuss the development of the Arizona intimate Partner Risk Assessment Instrument System (APRAIS), its field use, and its limitations.

Neil’s presentation will be followed by a question and answer session.
