Making engaging with people and communities business as usual
Involving people and communities in healthcare is the best way to ensure that health services are as inclusive as possible, and resources are targeted to where they will create the most benefit. This involvement needs resources, and the investment can take time to realise. But over time, relationships can be built, and a culture of trust created. Listening to people’s needs can become the norm.
In this workshop we’ll explore how to create the right environment for involving people and communities in our work. Working interactively, we will think through:
- Ways to create a supportive culture
- The most appropriate leadership styles
- Enablers and blockers and ideas for working with them
