Speakers:
Dr Callum Leese
Callum qualified in medicine at the University of Edinburgh and is currently training in general practice in Aberfeldy while conducting research in population health and genomics at the University of Dundee. He co-founded the Healthiest Town initiative in Aberfeldy, supports the charity RunTalkRun, and is a clinical champion in physical activity and lifestyle at the RCGP. In 2023, he consulted for WHO Europe on physical activity promotion in primary care and now leads the BSLM Physical Activity SIG. His research focuses on promoting physical activity in primary care. When not working, Callum enjoys running, cycling, skiing, or climbing.
Dr Hussain Al-Zubaidi
Dr Hussain Al-Zubaidi (@irondoctorhaz) is a lifestyle TV doctor and athlete coach. He is a team GB age group long distance triathlete. Movement, community, and nutrition are three cornerstones of his personal and professional life. He has a varied portfolio career across several sectors. These include being parkrun’s health partnerships lead, Royal College of GPs lifestyle and physical activity champion, Leamington NHS personalised care lead, as well as a SWIM England clinical advisor and a board member for Sport in Mind. He runs a pioneering NHS based lifestyle clinic and fitness club helping to educate and support patients to eat better, move more and connect with their community. He is a well-respected educator delivering numerous talks and lectures to audiences both professional and public including regular TV and radio appearances including over 80 appearances on Channel 4, BBC & ITV.
