The Fundamentals of Change and Improvement is a nationally accredited short, practical programme held over two sessions, providing an in-depth introduction to Quality Improvement tools and techniques for those in general practices and PCNs.
This is an interactive programme and a core part involves applying your learning to a problem or challenge in your practice or PCN (required at the application stage). This should be a small, specific process or system problem that is current for you. Examples from previous participants include improving screening uptake, the triage process, reducing DNAs, increasing the uptake of online consultations, improving the flow of documents.
PLEASE NOTE that the programme does not provide information/guidance on how practices and PCNs operate, governance, contracts/business operations. It is also not designed primarily to help with staff management/ communication issues, so these should not be the primary focus of your chosen challenge. If you have any queries about your choice of topic, please contact us via the email address below.
By the end of the programme, participants will be able to
- Describe the components needed for successful change in the context of their chosen problem/challenge
- Map out a process
- Develop an aim and measurement plan
- Generate and prioritise ideas and develop a plan to test the ideas.
A certificate will be provided on completion of the programme.
APPLICANTS MUST BE ABLE TO ATTEND BOTH SESSIONS IN THE COHORT.
Places are offered on a first come, first served basis, to those eligible who fulfil the application requirements. 16 places are available per cohort. Applications may close early if the cohort is oversubscribed. Please complete all questions.
