Modern Slavery & Human Trafficking – Spotting the signs and how i can help

The session will include:

  1. What is Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking?
  2. Why is it still happening in 2023?
  3. Understand the different types of Exploitation
  4. Understand why victims become victims
  5. The local picture
  6. Learn what support networks are in place for victims
  7. Understand what to look for and how you can help

Speaker Profiles:

Detective Sergeant Chris Acourt is a Police officer serving with Cambridgeshire for over 22 years, covering a variety of roles from uniform response to CID. He has been specialising in Modern Slavery investigations for around 8 years, during which time he has encountered and protected numerous victims and successfully convicted a number of individuals for Modern Slavery crimes.

Detective Constable Nick Webber is a Police officer serving with Cambridgeshire Constabulary for 19 years, working in a variety of roles. Nick has specialised in Modern Slavery Investigations for more than half his career and also worked on many complex Modern Slavery investigations bringing them to a successful conclusion.
