Interactive group discussion following an introduction by a local Social Prescriber, for anyone working within primary care or with links to community healthcare.
We will have an introductory talk by a local Social Prescriber, talking about her role in the community and how this can benefit patient welfare as well as helping reduce over-medicalisation and prescribing. There will then be an opportunity to ask some questions, followed by an informal group discussion on the topic circulating on how we can incorporate this into our practice.
Learning objectives: To gain a better understanding of what ‘Social Prescribing’ is, its mutual benefits to patients along with the environment and gain a better familiarity with relevant local services healthcare staff and patients can utilize.
In the final 15 minutes, for anyone who wishes to stay on, we will have an additional brief group discussion on how to reduce consumption and waste in our lives this Christmas, whilst still making the most of the festive period!
