In the wake of COVID-19, primary care practitioners face new challenges in managing COVID-19 positive patients presenting with respiratory issues.
This webinar, a collaboration between Thrombosis UK, Primary Care Cardiovascular Society (PCCS) and will consider:
What is the pathway and action for primary care managing acute but not hospitalised thrombosis and patients late presenting with respiratory symptoms?
Presentation and discussion will include:
- Guidance on investigating and managing respiratory issues in a patient when acutely unwell with COVID-19.
- Considerations for the management of asymptomatic / mildly unwell COVID-19 positive patients with a previous history of thrombosis.
- General management of respiratory issues during recovery from COVID-19.
The webinar is Chaired by Professor Ahmet Fuat, a GP in Darlington & a GPSI Cardiology. Prof Fuat is an Honorary Professorial Chair at Durham University and holds various roles in CVD & research including the Past President of the new PCCS which he was instrumental in reforming, CVD Clinical Adviser to the RCGP, CVD & Research Leads for Darlington PCN & Federation, Associate Lead for Industry Research at NE & North Cumbria NIHR CRN. Recently he was elected to the Darlington PCN Governing body as a GP member, CVD, Research Leads & Chair.
Prof Fuat is on the editorial boards of the British Journal of Cardiology & Primary Care Cardiovascular Journals & a peer reviewer for many high impact CVD journals & research bodies. His work in community cardiology has been recognised with Fellowships from the RCGP, RCP London & RCP Edinburgh.
