C&P ICB invites you to the C&P ICS Cancer Awayday. Practices / PCNs are requested to send a nominated representative and ensure they have a save the date in their diary. Final agenda will be emailed to those who have signed up for the event.

We recognise that Primary Care has a vital role to play in system-wide improvement efforts to increase the proportion of cancers diagnosed early. GPs play a pivotal role in diagnosing cancer earlier and supporting the NHS Long-Term Plan ambition to diagnose 75% of cancers at stage 1 or 2 by 2028.

This workshop will cover:

  • Contribute on local plans for the early diagnosis of cancer, focus on screening uptake and tackling neighbourhood health inequalities to enable GP practices to deliver on their GP contract requirements.
  • Receive update on work that is taking place (or being planned) locally before you embark on your own planning and actions, to enable your network and so you don’t reinvent the wheel.
  • There may be specific cancer working groups which bring together relevant stakeholders that you could tap into.
  • Opportunity for you to link in with your ICB, Cancer Alliance and public health teams who will likely have local plans and resources to support you.

Please can you respond to this invite by emailing Jane Steward at jane.steward1@nhs.net indicating name of your representative, their role, Practice / PCN name with your acceptance of this invite before 30 September 2024.
