Interpreting Lab Results – Biochemistry Testing in Primary Care
Overview:
Interpreting common biochemical abnormalities and how to investigate & manage them in Primary Care.
This will consist of case-based discussions around the following areas:
- Urea and electrolytes – hyponatraemia, hypo- and hyperkalaemia and AKI
- Bone profile – hypercalcaemia, hypocalcaemia, hypophosphatasia
- Liver function tests – raised ALT, liver fibrosis scoring tools
- Endocrine tests – cortisol, thyroid function tests.
Lipid update:
- Overview of ESC/EAS guidance
- Statin intolerance
- New cholesterol lowering medication – Evolocumab/Alirocumab, Bempedoic Acid, Inclisiran
- Overview of NICE guidance
- Hypertriglyceridaemia.
The webinar will also allow time after each session for Q&A.
