What will module cover: An overview to what the voluntary sector has to offer. You will have a better understanding of the voluntary sector, what different services provide and how you can match patients to the best services available.

Housing

  • Who owns and manages homes?
  • Different types of housing available.
  • Introduction to the different housing partners and agencies across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough
  • An understanding of how to support people get out of hospital and into suitable housing
  • Homelessness –how the homelessness process works –
  • People have multiple disadvantage e.g. mental health, physical health, drugs, alcohol, low income, poor housing
  • Building affordable homes to prevent homelessness.
  • Helping people improve their financial abilities and get back into work – various projects

Hoarding

  • What is a hoarding disorder?
  • How to identify a hoarding disorder in a patient.
  • How to support patients who have a hoarding disorder.
  • Support available for you and your patient.

Module: Community Development- How to work with your communities

What will module cover: This module will cover the following topics.

  • ABCD- How to build connections and relationships in our communities.
  • How to create communities and groups that are inclusive for all.
  • Who’s who (a brief into the different agencies involved i.e. Council, Parish etc) understand the power dynamics within communities and groups and how to navigate them.
  • How communities can make better decisions for everyone and how we help to build those systems that support everyone.
  • Ways that community members can support each other
  • Community groups you can tap into.
