Beverley Bostock-Cox Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Gloucestershire & Editor in Chief at Practice Nurse Journal
Beverley has both clinical and academic roles, combining her work as a nurse practitioner at Mann Cottage Surgery in the Cotswolds with her role as a national diabetes and asthma educator. As a nurse prescriber Bev has a particular interest in the pharmacological management of long term conditions. Bev enjoys writing and does so extensively, as well as reviewing publications for a range of journals. Bev is ARNS lead for asthma, the nurse committee member for the Primary Care Cardiovascular Society and a member of the Policy Forum of the Primary Care Respiratory Society. Bev is a regular speaker at national conferences such as ‘Best Practice in Nursing’, the Primary Care Cardiovascular Conference and the Primary Care Respiratory Society conference. She has an MSc in Respiratory Care, an MA in Medical Ethics and Law and is a Queen’s Nurse.
Jane Diggle Specialist Practitioner Practice Nurse, South Kirkby West Yorkshire
Jane qualified with a BSc (Hons) in Nursing in 1990 (Leeds) and has been a Practice Nurse within the same practice for over 20 years. Whilst she retains a generalist role, her special interest is in diabetes for which she is clinical lead within her practice. She is an independent prescriber and has gained MSc modules in Insulin Management and New & Advanced Therapies from Leicester University. She was appointed Vice Chair of the Primary Care Diabetes Society in 2016 and has been part of the committee since 2010. She is Associate Editor-in-Chief or Diabetes and Primary Care Journal, has had a number of articles published, was instrumental in developing and writing Six Steps to Insulin Safety (a free e-learning module launched in 2016 and available at www.cpd.diabetesonthenet.com) and regularly delivers presentations on aspects of managing diabetes. She represents practice nurses as Associate Member of TREND-UK (Training, Research & Education for Nurses in Diabetes).
