You are invited to the launch of the first national NHS Deaf and Hard of Hearing Staff Network, on the one-year anniversary of the first face-to-face event for deaf and hard of hearing staff, which took place during the NHS’ 75th birthday.

Speakers from across the NHS will outline the mission, purpose and objectives of the network with views from deaf and hard of hearing leaders and advocates about how the network can help transform working lives in our NHS.

There will also be an opportunity for deaf and hard of hearing staff and allies to share how the network can continue to build a culture of compassion and belonging in the NHS, so that our workforce receives the best support within the inclusive environment necessary to thrive, as we deliver both the Long Term Workforce Plan and outstanding patient care.

This event is for all deaf and hard of hearing staff and their managers, peers and allies. Staff network members in attendance will include Fizz Izagaren, Paediatric Emergency Medicine ST8, Thomas Cook Children’s Critical Care Centre, Asha Hylton, Sister, Thomas Cook Children’s Critical Care Centre, King’s College Hospital, Emmanuelle Blondiaux-Ding, IT & Clinical Systems Trainer, Leeds Dental Institute – Dental EPR service, Helen Grote, Consultant Neurologist, Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, Emily Nicol, Senior Policy Manager Health & Justice Children Programme, NHS England, Emma Mendes da Costa, Workforce EDI Lead at Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, Matthew James, Head of OD – Staff Experience, NHSE North East and Yorkshire, Janaki Chitsabesan, Pharmacy Technician – Specialised Commissioning, London region, NHSE and Dr Harriet Sharp, FY1 Endocrinology and Diabetes, Frimley Park Hospital, Lenka Novak, Deaf Advisor, South West London and St George’s Mental Health Trust.
