Overview
This session will introduce practice teams to the concept of health inequalities and what we can do about them as a primary care team.
It is being delivered by Fiona Head who is Medical Director of the ICB and qualified as both a Public Health Consultant and a GP.
The objectives of the session are that those attending
- Can describe what the concept of “health inequalities” means.
- Understand the multiple causes of health inequalities and how these might interact.
- Know where to find information about the major health inequalities for their practice population.
- Have an awareness of the current national and local policy context for health inequality reduction.
- Are aware of the role the primary health care team can play in health inequality reduction
- Identify one action their team can take to reduce health inequalities.
