All CPFT Nursing Staff, Practice Nurses, HCAs, and all trained nursing home nurses

Course Expectations

For CPFT staff and practice nurses following the 2 leg ulcer study days and need to gain confidence or a reminder in:

  • Practice bandaging four layer (pressure monitor) and short stretch
  • Hosiery, wraps and Wound Express (Intermittent Compression Therapy)
  • Doppler practice and competencies sign off if needed. Bring your competency
    document.

For CPFT staff, Practice nurses and Nursing Homes staff

  • Better understanding of products used on CPFT wound care formulary to ensure best treatment for your patients
  • Introduction of new pathways

Please bring your own bandages to practice

Ideally you would have attended one of the following courses to build up your knowledge and skills – Two day leg ulcer course, chronic oedema, wound management, pressure ulcer prevention and management
