Event Overview

This event is FREE to members and non-members

General Practice is having to adjust to seismic changes in the NHS and in Primary Care which includes the demise of CCGs and the emergence of ICSs. The Fuller Report, published in May 2022, describes a fresh vision for integrating primary care. At its heart is the proposal to develop Integrated Neighbourhood Teams which embrace and enhance the PCN structures and leadership.

We are delighted to have Ben Gowland help us explore the implications of ICSs, the Fuller Report and how General Practice can build influence as a local provider and what this means for at scale General Practice. Many will know Ben through his weekly blogs and podcasts as director of Ockham Healthcare as well as regularly appearing in the GP press. Ben has worked in the NHS for over 20 years and was previously Chief Executive of NHS Nene CCG. After a presentation from Ben we will be hearing from Dr Mike Hearne and Nisha Sankey who have been pioneering an integrated approach to primary care in Herefordshire, led by General Practice.

The event has been conceived by the Late Career and Retired Members Group of the RCGP and will be chaired by Dr Ashley Liston who is a recently retired GP and current GP Tutor and appraiser. There will be plenty of opportunity for discussion and debate.
