General practice provides over 300 million patient consultations each year, compared to 23 million A&E visits. There is a great range of opportunities to learn from and with our Practitioners across Primary Care. However, placement capacity is a challenge and very few undergraduate students get the opportunity of a placement in Primary Care before
their registration as a professional. To support our patients with the right care, in the right place, and at the right time from the right professional, we need to offer all students placements in Primary Care so that all practitioners understand more about how Primary Care can support all patients.

What is the purpose of the workshop?

This event will be an opportunity to hear from colleagues across our region, on how they are expanding and improving the quality of the placements in their areas. We invite you to join us to hear about various projects and new ways of working, also to meet with colleagues within your Integrated Care System and local HEIs to network and work together on new concepts.

This event is aimed at Educators working across Primary Care; GPs, Nursing and Allied Health professionals, as well as those leading and developing and delivering learning and services.
