Event Overview

This event is FREE to members, £10 for non-members

Climate change is the biggest health threat currently facing humanity, and it’s already affecting us and our patients. The good news is that the actions we need to take to tackle the climate crisis also have significant benefits for our patient’s health, as well as the potential to boost staff morale and save money. In this series of webinars, we’ll be sharing top tips for positive climate action within general practice.

Interventions that reduce our environmental impact often carry significant cost savings, especially considering the energy crisis we all face. In this session, we’ll explore how you can save your practice money as well as increase sustainability. We’ll also introduce the concept of carbon literacy, to help you gain a better understanding of which actions carry the highest and lowest carbon footprints, and a guide to the Green Impact for Health Toolkit, which is a great way to start your practice on its path to sustainability.

Future monthly sessions: Green Impact for Health Toolkit: Medicines, the ocean, and deprescribing; Low carbon alternatives – blue/green prescribing, physical activity, plant-based diet; Opportunities for sustainable healthcare roles/ how to overcome barriers to involvement and Sustainable QI/myth busting and resources.
