The Royal Society for Public Health and NHS England (NHSE) are pleased to announce that they will be hosting a final Violence Prevention and Reduction (VPR) Train the Trainer session this Autumn.

The VPR qualifications utilise a public health approach to understand and prevent root causes of violence and abuse at various levels. The pathway consists of three regulated qualifications at Levels 3 and 4, and is designed to meet the training needs of Violence Prevention and Reduction Operational Leads and Strategic Specialists employed by Trusts, as well as other members of the NHS workforce who are working in ‘at risk’ environments.

Trainers who are accepted will receive the following benefits:

  • A fully funded place on the CPD Accredited Train the Trainer programme – supporting you to deliver all three qualifications.
  • One year of RSPH membership at Associate grade.
  • Registration as an RSPH approved training centre to deliver these qualifications, with approval fees covered by the RSPH.
  • The ability to deliver these qualifications on an ongoing basis in your own setting.

It is required that trainers are able to attend four half-days of virtual trainings and register as an RSPH Centre at the end of their training process.

The training dates are:

  • Session 1: 14th October, 9:30am-1pm, Teams
  • Session 2: 21st October, 9:30am-1pm, Teams
  • Session 3: 23rd October, 9:30am-1pm, Teams
  • Session 4: 28th October 9:30am-1pm, Teams

At this time, we are accepting expressions of interest from those ideally working in or with NHS England who are interested in becoming a trainer, and would like for their organisation/region to become a training centre able to deliver the VPR qualifications.
