Currently, Medical Examiner offices provide independent scrutiny of non-coronial deaths occurring in acute hospitals. The role of these offices is now being extended to also cover deaths occurring in the community.

This has resulted in the production of a whole new medical specialty, which presents an interesting and valuable opportunity for a new portfolio career for general practitioners.

Join us online when we will welcome Dr Frances Cranfield, local GP and assistant coroner, for a webinar to explore the role of the Medical Examiner in scrutinizing deaths in primary care, and how GPs might enter this area of expertise.

We will conclude with a look at changes in legislation and process after the Coronovirus Act 202, which lapses on 23 March 2022.
