Introduction
Dr Jessica Randall-Carrick (STP and CCG Joint Clinical Lead- Diabetes and Obesity) will be chairing the Diabetes Spring Meeting. This represents one of the meetings that are being held for Practice & PCN Diabetes Leads as part of the 2019-20 LES requirements.
Who is for ?
This spring Meeting is aimed at Clinical Directors and Practice Diabetes Leads. Other professionals with an interest in this areas would be welcome to attend.

Speakers
Dr Ollie Hart has been a GP partner at Sloan Medical Centre, Sheffield, since 2004. He is happiest with one foot in front line clinical care, and the other in leading and innovating change. Using experience from each to inform and inspire the other, keeps him excited about creating conditions for people to flourish.
He has been clinical lead for Sheffield’s person centred care program since 2014, which has followed an iterative process in engaging 70 GP practices to develop person centred care skills. As part of this work, Sheffield has introduced the use of PAM in primary care for a range of long-term conditions. He has been one of the founder members of NHS England’s PAM learning set and is a national leader for collaborative Care and Support planning for the RCGP.
Dr Carly Hughes FRCGP, MSc has 27 years experience as a GP in Norfolk. She has also trained as a bariatric physician and runs an award winning specialist multidisciplinary service for people with severe and complex Obesity. She was a member of the NICE CG 189 Obesity guidance group, and developed the NICE quality standards for adult Obesity. She is an honorary lecturer at the University of East Anglia, and a researcher at the MRC Epidemiology unit at Cambridge. Her research interests include patients and doctors attitudes towards obesity, weight loss maintenance, and promoting physical activity for health. She has published over 20 papers on Obesity related topics, and lectures nationally and internationally. She is passionate about addressing ‘Obesity Stigma’ and encouraging healthcare professionals to discuss weight, and refer people with Obesity to evidence based services.Her other interests include womens health, especially the menopause and follow up after breast cancer.
