Leadership Skills Series
We are excited to launch a new series of leadership development workshops designed for anyone who leads teams within primary care, whether within a clinical or non-clinical service.
These practical skills workshops will suit those who are relatively new to a leadership role, and equally, those more experienced leaders who would like to refresh their skills, knowledge and confidence in leading teams in today’s constantly evolving primary care environment.
Whilst the workshops have been designed to flow in a logical sequence, participants can attend any or all of the sessions. Please note however that if you are interested in the Just & Learning Culture sessions, it would be important to attend both sessions to fully benefit.
Benefits for you:
• Increase your leadership confidence and grow in your role as a leader of others
• Learn and/or refresh practical leadership skills you can apply straight away
• Connect with peers from across local practices and PCNs
• Create space for your own continuing professional development and self-care at work
Places are subsidised, so we are able to offer these at £25 per person and there are a limited number of places.
PMA Fundamentals Workshops
These workshops are structured around five essential pillars of practice management, making it ideal for individuals seeking to refresh their knowledge or enhance their skillset.
Whether you’re an experienced manager or looking to upskill, you’ll gain valuable, practical insights into the key areas of financial management, navigating HR and employment law, planning for succession, developing effective workforce retention strategies, CQC compliance, and QOF requirements.
Each workshop reflects the latest updates, ensuring you stay informed and equipped to meet the evolving demands of modern practice management.
Primary Care Operational Improvement Training
This training programme is open to all bands 6-8a (or equivalent) clinical and operational staff, supporting them to develop their skills in operational management with practical tools they can apply in their day-to-day work and future careers.
While the programme includes some basic improvement training (which may be familiar to those with previous experience), its primary focus is broader—developing skills in operational management and team leadership. We encourage participation even if you've completed other improvement courses, as this programme offers a much wider scope.
It includes a one-day core module for all participants, focusing on leading teams and leading improvement, as well as a range of half-day specialty-specific modules that focus on operational management skills across a variety of clinical areas: Urgent and Emergency Care (UEC), Cancer, Outpatients, Theatres and Perioperative Care, Mental Health, Elective Care, and Diagnostics.
