The eligibility criteria for attending this course with Healthy You has changed. This training is only commisioned for those who are health professionals or support residents within Cambridgeshire and Peterborough within their job role, by having conversations with the public and working out in the community.
Training outline
The course qualifies you as a Mental Health First Aider, providing you with:
- An in depth understanding of mental health and the factors that can affect wellbeing
- Practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues
- Confidence to step in, reassure and support a person in distress
- Enhanced interpersonal skills such as non-judgemental listening
- Knowledge to help someone recover their health by guiding them to further support – whether that’s self-help resources, through their employer, the NHS, or a mix
Sessions:
Day One: 20th February 9.30am – 5.00pm
Day Two: 22nd February 9.30am – 5.00pm
