We are delighted to offer funded places for GPs currently working in Cambridgeshire & Peterborough general practice to attend this one-day local PCDS course, commissioned by C&P Training Hub in conjunction with our Dermatology Clinical Skills programme.

Dermoscopy for Absolute Beginners is aimed at people who have either:

  • Never had a dermatoscope but are planning on getting one and want to know how to use it before they get one
  • Have a dermatoscope but don’t use it because they don’t know how
  • Have a dermatoscope in the practice but have not had much (or any) training
  • Have been using a dermatoscope a bit, and would like to feel more confident with the basics as a refresher

The course will be delivered by PCDS and offers plenty of opportunity for interaction. If you have a dermatoscope, please bring it with you (and camera if you use one) and the team will be able to help with any troubleshooting queries you may have. If you don’t have a dermatoscope, don’t worry, PCDS have a few they can show you and you can try out.

Please note that this course is NOT aiming to make you competent to diagnose early melanomas or difficult atypical naevi or anything too challenging. It is the real basics, including how to use a dermatoscope, keeping it clean, taking good pictures through it, and concentrating on being able to tell the difference between common benign lesions such as seborrhoeic keratoses, BCCs, and melanomas.

This course will take place in person at the Old Bridge Hotel in Huntingdon. A light lunch and refreshments will be provided. Please provide any specific dietary requirements during the booking process.

Funding

Funded places are only available on this particular course and date and are not available for any other PCDS course. Places are limited and will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis.

This course costs £175 per person which is being paid for by C&P Training Hub. If you book and then find you are unable to attend for any reason please cancel in your account (more than 7 days prior) or by emailing us if less than 7 days prior, so that your place can be reallocated. Please note that last minute cancellations and non-attendance on the day without prior cancellation may incur a cancellation fee.
