This is a full-day in-person course.
Using presentations, discussions and exercises, this course covers some of the most common communication issues between doctors and patients, and the impact they can have on the doctor-patient relationship.
Guest speaker, Dr Martin Brunet, explores the ‘pinch points’ where communication can go off-track and tools that can help you navigate the challenges they present (examples are provided for both primary and secondary care).
This course offers help with:
- identifying and avoiding pinch points which can derail the consultation
- improving your interactions with patients and colleagues
- understanding how personality can impact communication
- using shared understanding to make the best decisions (the Two Houses consultation model).
