Dr Paula Newton is an experienced portfolio GP working in Cambridgeshire. One of her roles has been as an appraiser and senior appraiser for many years. In this session she will outline the changes to appraisal introduced as a response to the pressures of the COVID-19 pandemic which have commenced on 1st October 2020. The new process has been designed to focus on supporting GPs and promoting their wellbeing, including reducing the time and bureaucracy of the process. She will cover the expectations on GPs and appraisers and share some “top tips” for getting the most out of the appraisal. It will be a shared learning session with plenty of opportunity for Q&A so please think of questions and concerns ahead of time.
