We have an exciting opportunity for general practice staff to undertake Enhanced Care Navigation Training, provided by the National Association of Primary Care. The training is open to reception staff and care navigators involved in triaging requests to the correct healthcare professional or service for the patient.  Staff should have already completed Foundation level Care Navigation Training.

The ‘Enhanced Session’ builds on the foundation skills and will focus on the following:

  • Effective communication
  • Barriers to communication
  • Building rapport
  • Active listening
  • Questioning skills
  • Positive steps for difficult conversations
  • Self-awareness and implementation and action planning with some reflection

We are able to offer 2 sessions from the suggested dates for training as shown below, each session is 2.5 hours:

  • 11 January 2024
  • 17 January 2024
  • 18 January 2024
  • 24 January 2024
