The NHSE East of England Elective Care and Improvement Team would like to invite you to an online Q&A event to discuss approaches to managing pelvic organ prolapse and fitting and removing pessaries. This will be the first of three, evening sessions that form part of our Gynaecology Training Programme. The programme aims to deliver a series of short educational sessions to support healthcare professionals working in Women’s Health to deliver non-complex gynaecology care in the community and reduce unwarranted variation in access to care and referrals to secondary care.
There are three, one hour, evening sessions planned as follows:
29th January 2025 from 19:00 – 20:00hrs
2nd April 2025 from 19:00 – 20:00hrs
11th June 2025 from 19:00 – 20:00 hrs
Further information regarding the second and third sessions will follow early 2025.
29th January 2025: Managing Pelvic Organ Prolapse, Q&A Session
There will be an opportunity to put your questions to a specialist nurse who has many years of experience of managing pelvic organ prolapse as well as fitting and removing pessaries. Colleagues are encouraged to send questions, relating to pelvic organ prolapse and ring pessaries, in advance to tinashe.jonga1@nhs.net. A full agenda will follow.
Targeted Audience: GPs, Practice Nurses, Sexual Health Practitioners, Pelvic Health Specialists, and other primary care clinicians
The purpose of the Q&A event is to enhance core skills to clinically examine women, choose appropriate pessaries and provide ongoing management. The event will focus on:
- Providing an update on new developments in clinical practice
- Sharing knowledge of best practice and recommended pathways to provide ongoing non-complex care
- Strengthening professional relationships and foster effective collaborative working across organisation boundaries
- Signposting to available resources and services that improve gynaecology care outcomes for diverse population groups.
