Navigating conflict within teams with confidence
This practical skills workshop, the ninth in a series of nine, will suit those who are relatively new to a leadership role, and equally, those more experienced leaders who would like to refresh their skills, knowledge and confidence in leading teams in today’s constantly evolving primary care environment.
Workshop Objectives
The workshop will:
- Consider why and how conflict can arise at work and explore the role of leader in resolving conflict within diverse teams
- Consider own responses to conflict, with a view to adapting a flexible and inclusive approach according to the situation
- Review a framework to plan and conduct conversations fairly and inclusively to resolve conflict within the team
Learning Outcomes
Participants will
- Appreciate how work pressures can create disengagement and conflict
- Identify own preferred response to conflict and understand need to flex conflict response to situation
- Understand team dynamics, the different perspectives and needs of staff members, and the importance of early intervention
- Practice use of a planning framework for conversations to resolve conflict and maintain engagement across a diverse team
