There has been a national increase in the incidence of Abusive Head Trauma in babies nationally and locally there is an ongoing Child Safeguarding Practice Review (previously called Serious Case Review) involving a child death from AHT in Cambridgeshire area. ICON is a programme which has recently been discussed at the C&PSCB and agreed as a Public Health approach to tackling Abusive Head Trauma (AKA Shaken Baby Syndrome) ICON is a preventative public health approach and seeks to utilise a number of touchpoints to explore and communicate the key messages to parents by using a systemwide approach. As such CCS have been instrumental in the commissioning of this programme and have purchased the programme for use across the entire system including primary care
