- how to identify and diagnose chronic insomnia when a patient discusses their sleep
- the burden of chronic insomnia on mental, physical, and social health, and how to offer hope to patients
- principles of CBT-i and how it helps to treat chronic insomnia
- pharmacology of medications used to treat insomnia with emphasis on their pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics
- awareness of how these factors impact on the side effects of medications
- choosing the best medication for your patients
