This education session is being delivered as part of the GP Fellowship Education Programme and is open to Cambridgeshire and Peterborough GPs who are enrolled on the GP Fellowship Scheme or who are within their first 5 years of practice.

Objectives:

  1. To provide a brief overview of the ESC guidelines on diagnosis and management of syncope
  2. To understand the different tests offered by the syncope service and who needs them
  3. To understand which patients should be referred to the syncope service

In addition to the objectives above, we will also briefly discuss POTS and NEAD and the challenges which we face with these conditions. This interactive session will also include cases for discussion and a Q&A session.

Jo Hampton is a consultant in Elderly Care and the Clinical Lead for the Syncope Assessment Service which is open to any patients aged 16 or older. Jo set up the Syncope Service when she was appointed to Addenbrookes Hospital over 10 years ago, following completion of an MD in syncope.
