This training will be facilitated by Shaynie Larwood, Lead Nurse, Traveller Health Team

Aim and Learning Outcomes

Gypsy Traveller families in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough are more likely to experience poor physical and mental health outcomes, have higher rates of child mortality, and significantly poorer education outcomes. This 2 hour, Microsoft Teams based course aims to support practitioners to work sensitively with Gypsy/Traveller families. We will discuss cultural context within the Gypsy Traveller community, review health and social care disparities affecting Gypsy Traveller families, and offer practitioners greater insight into the lived experience of Gypsy Traveller families.
